Get Ready to Drool! [Dishing with The Diva Dish]

Morning kids!  Today I'm letting another one of my favorite bloggers have their way with you.  Don't worry, she'll be gentle =)

Hello Peas & Crayons Friends!!

My name is Ari and I blog over at The Diva Dish! I’ve been BEGGING and PLEADING Jenn to be my bloggy friend for ages now, and she finally accepted! How lucky am I? Let me tell you, incredibly lucky because she’s one of the sweetest, spunkiest, and most amazing gals I’ve met! So when Jenn asked me to do a guest post for her, I got pretty excited!

A little back story about me, I’m married to one of the hardest working guys I’ve ever met, and I’ve got two darling little princess’ for daughters. We’ve got a lot of personality in our family, and more often than not I’m convinced I’m the luckiest girl in the world. My main belief is that our bodies are temples and we should treat them that way. I love stuffing my face, as well as my families, with tons of veggies! But don’t get me wrong, we definitely splurge on sweet treats & eats!

Today I thought I would share with you some of my family’s favorite recipes in hoping someday they might become yours!

The first one is a request from the hubs, it’s his all time favorite meal! Sweet Chicken w/Creamy Tomatillo Dressing.

Cafe Rio Sweet Chicken and Creamy Cilantro Dressing

If you have ever heard of the restaurant Café Rio, you know that they are famous for their Sweet Pork and Tomatillo Dressing! I put my own twist on it, switched it to chicken, and convinced my husband that my healthier take was way better than eating it at the restaurant. Guess what? He agreed and requests this dish every week!

The next recipe is my favorite quick mama lunch, Strawberry Basil Chickpea Salad! It’s a take on a chicken salad, but instead of chicken I used chickpeas. It’s super fast and I dream about eating it often. Too weird? J A little side note, my two year old loves these!

Strawberry Basil Chickpea Salad Sandwiches

My go to appetizer that I usually bring to parties has been bruschetta of every kind, but this one in particular holds a special place in my heart. Not sure if it’s because it’s pink, or because it has goat cheese…

Black Berry Goat Cheese Bruschetta

Last but not least after every good meal must always come a sweet dessert! Who isn’t down for a HUGE serving of chocolate cake, or a really good chocolate chip cookie after dinner? I know I am, but sometimes I try to have my sweet treat be as natural and clean as possible, because truth be told…I can never stop at one cookie or one slice of cake.

Chocolate Chia Seed Truffles

Well friends, that’s it for today! Feel free to stop on in and say “HI” whenever you want, we would love to have you! Also, a special thanks, hugs, and kisses to Jenn for allowing me to take over the blog today!

Ahhhh Thanks Ari!  Love your face off!  Now that you have us all starving and contemplating licking our screens, I'm sure we'll all be following you around like a puppy waiting to see what you make us next!  I hope everyone has a fantabulous weekend in store!  Happy Friday!
