What I Ate Wednesday #95

The last few days have been beyond crazy with road trips, recipe testing, and lots of furniture hunting.  I took a zillion and one photos of my food, but when it came time to choose a day to share for my weekly What I Ate Wednesday post I panicked and smooshed a little bit of everything into one epic collage.  There's a trend here.  It's a tad embarrassing how much seafood two people can consume over the course of 4 days.  And by embarrassing, I mean awesome.

Though if I spontaneously sprout gills and start flopping around on the floor, stick me in a bucket of water, will ya?  Thanks!

WIAW: What I Ate Wednesday Weekly Round-Up

[Sashimi Platter from Nikki's Sushi] [Mushroom Bisque + Veggie Crepes from Crepe for You] [Homemade Sushi Platter with Cucumber Salad] [Salmon Burgers] [Salmon Shrimp Sushi from Whole Foods Market] [Sweet Potato Chickpea Burgers] [Shrimp Tacos

My snacks have been the same few things on epic repeat -- lots of chilled under-ripe bananas, crinkle cut carrots, and peanut butter pretzels.  Oh and bread.... way too much crusty bread ;)  I've also been recipe testing my face off.  My skinny jeans might be a little snug this week but ohmygoooooosh so much YUM!

Ooh! In case you're suddenly craving shrimp tacos now, the recipe is uuuuuber simple!  It's pretty much identical to my fish taco recipe but with the addition of fresh chopped tomatoes and jalapenos along with the the red onion and avocado.  Whole foods had a special on local jumbo shrimp and holy yum they were the best I've had in ages!

I should *probably* whip up a post with Thanksgiving sides and such for you at some point but until I get my act together, you pretty much have to make this:

Seriously.

  3. I had the same predicament with my WIAW...so many eats, what to choose? Ah well, let's give them a bit of everything.
I hope you were able to get some furniture in between meals, which look amazing for sure. Hell, you even have a hand model now.

  11. You may eat a lot of seafood but I'm always jealous when you eat sushi. It's been awhile since I've had it and it always looks SO good!

  12. I am so sad that I don't like sushi. I tried it again for the fourth time on the weekend. I had to take off the seaweed and just eat the cucumber and rice. I don't get it. I like lobster, crab, haddock, salmon, mussels, but give me sushi or shrimp and my body hates it. Wah! Can we still be friends?

  16. I don't miss much as a vegan...but every now and then the sight (or thought) of rice-covered raw fish with extra pickled ginger, dipped in soy sauce, makes me a little crazy. Good thing I'm usually just in it for the ginger and soy, so the vegetarian versions can suffice. :)

I saw your sweet potato recipe burger recipe yesterday and thought, "YES!" I want to combine it with my go-to bean & grain burger recipe and see what happens...
