I started my day with a giant cup of black coffee with a little pumpkin spice seasoning added for fall festivity, water, and a deliciously ripe clementine orange. After checking my email and thoroughly waking up, I dragged my butt back down to the kitchen for one of my favorite fall snacks: Baked Butternut Squash Steak Fries. Though it's a little odd, I love ketchup on roasted squash! Later snackage consisted of my token roasted red pepper hummus and GF crackers along with an undeniable OMGCOFFEE fix as well. For some strange reason I drink less and less water as the temperature drops, so I'm trying to keep a water bottle handy to nip that weird habit in the butt. Later on in the day I sampled two of my PB+C Cookies for quality control. At least that's the excuse I'm sticking with! For dinner P and I used up the last of our homemade pizza dough to make a big fat veggie veggie pizza. We piled it with spinach, bell peppers, jalapenos, and garlic and smothered it with enough cheese to make me blush. Since I snacked all day long, this was probably the most substantial meal I had in my face all day and I kid you not when I say that we devoured the entire thing in a sitting. A little late night chocolate also made a cameo as well as a cup of hot apple cider tea. Overall it was an unstructured but colorful day of eats!

Oh I LOVE raddish! yum yum....
ReplyDeleteJenn, I Love the idea of the squash fries! Kethup doesn't sound too weird... ;-) I have a question for you. I know you are big on Kombucha and you re-use the bottles. I Finally found some where in my area to buy it. I LOVE IT!! But how the heck to you get the labels off of the bottles?!? Do you have a secret method? I'd really appreciate some idea, I soaked it for the day and still nothing! Thanks, Sweetie!!
ReplyDeleteYou're squash fries look lovely. I love chunky chips (we call fries chips here in the UK. Fries to me are thin. Chips are chunky). I love ketchup too. I have to be sparse with it because I can overload my plate with it. I don't eat it as often as I used to.
ReplyDeleteApple cider tea sounds delish! I know what you mean about finding it harder to drink water as the weather is colder. All I want is tea and coffee to keep me warm.
I bet those radish chips would be delicious with a little seasoned salt sprinkled all over them..and then dipped in ketchup? [I don't think ketchup on squash is weird. I like ketchup on EVERYTHING. Although, HP Sauce is my new favorite thing, since it brings together ketchup and BBQ sauce into a beautiful bottle of brown condiment harmony.]
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning me! Being a Halloween nut, I very much appreciate this month's theme. Anything with the word 'chip' in it, would probably get shoved into my gullet. It's that psychological aspect...chip?...eat...dough?....eat...fry?....eat!
ReplyDeleteWhen can I come over for a taste of all of your goodness?! :)
ReplyDeleteYour mug is too pretty!
ReplyDeleteradish chips, butternut squash with ketchup, strawberry vodka.. um noted. I will be visiting soon!

ReplyDeletemmm, the radish chips look perfect for scooping hummus! :) also, i definitely dip anything that you can call a "fry" into ketchup. it's necessary.
ReplyDeleteI was so jealous when I saw you post those radish chips on IG! I haven't been able to find a chip version... but I by the balls at the market. ;)

LMAO. Did you say "nip it in the BUTT" on purpose? It's "nip it in the BUD". Bahaha. Either way, that had me cracking up!
ReplyDeleteI like nipping butts!
DeleteHaha it's one of the phrases I grew up saying incorrectly. I also say "point in case" instead of "case in point" when I fail to think about it beforehand. I think there are a few others too... I'm a weird one ;) Glad I got a giggle out of you!
Radish chips sound interesting! I can't wait to check out all those links!!

I love how you put ketchup on your squash, can devour a pizza with a little help, put pumpkin spice in your coffee, bake and "sample" your own cookies, and share amazing finds like radish chips with the rest of us! Best thing I love about you though is how you nip it in the butt!! Too funny! X
ReplyDeleteEEEeee I got so excited when I saw radish chips!! Carrot chips are my absolute favorite because unlike baby carrots...they aren't so dang loud when you munch them (thus being respectful for those around me) plus they are so fun!!
ReplyDeleteI just checked out the naked puppy chow, and it looks awesome! Basically a chocolatey bowl of cereal goodness:)
