What I Ate Wednesday #36 [What I Ate... at FSU!]

Paul and I flew out to Tallahassee, FL for a mini FSU reunion! <3
Food, Friends, and FSU Football? Yes, please!
Here are a few highlights!

Green Man is OBV a Seminole fan!

Gordos!!! ahhhh!!!
gordos cuban cafe turkey cuban and seasoned fries
If you offer me turkey i'll turn it down... unless you fly me to Gordos.  I've ordered the Turkey Cuban since 2005... vegetarianism and all.  Sometimes you make choices regarding what's best for your mind and body, but you can't forget to make choices that nurture your happiness as well =)  I adopted my 0% guilt 100% happiness philosophy back in college and still honor it to this day.  So yes, I ate turkey.  Today? Veggies dahhling! And I couldn't be happier =) [Lies. I'd be way happier if I had internet at ze house! Haha!]

mellow mushroom bruschetta appetizer
Blurry but beautiful bruschetta from Mellow Mushroom!
I think I've got the recipe down pact if you want it! <3 Deeeeeeelish!

More Foodie Snapshots from the Weekend:
Bagel Bagel egg, hashbrown, and cheese breakfast wraps [ahhh yum!]
Burger King Morningstar veggie burgers with GUACAMOLE!
[oh yes! they will add guac to your veggie burger and it. is. delicious!]
Veggie salads for good measure.
LOTS of water!
Key Lime Larabars for snacky situations.
Airport breakfast!  Cinn Raisin bagel with egg and cheese

synergy gingerade kombucha
and lastly, I started and finished the trip with a Gingerade kombucha.
It took me months to aquire a taste for it but MAN am I glad I put the effort in!  Ginger and I were meant to be the best of friends =)  Plus this girl needs to detox the eats, drinks and lack of sleep that FSU offers up.  WORTH IT! <3

Oh hi... were you ready to party?
Enough of my shenanigans! Lets Rock + WIAW! <3
Happy What I Ate Wednesday!!! <3\

New to the shindig?  [Click here for a How-To!]

Mandatory: add the WIAW button + link somewhere in the post you are sharing so your friends + readers can see what you're up to and join in on the fun too!  Or simply so they can stalk everyone's posts like we do =)  Don't forget to make sure any recipes you link up are part of a what-I-ate post and not solely a recipe.  This way we can keep WIAW food diary focused... since that's what it's all about!  Plus it ups the inspiration factor =) Maaaajorly!  Email me at PEASandCRAYONS [at] gmail.com or Tweet if ya need help! Looks like you had a blast!  I had no idea burger king would add guac - pleasantly surprised!  I love ginger kombucha and it's been one of the easiest flavors to make on my own.  I just drop a couple pieces of sugared ginger into the bottle, let it 2nd ferment for a day or two and viola!

you with green man--too cute.  :)  I wanna try making some home made kombucha...hmmmm!

Yum! Everything looks amazing. I have tried kombucha, and it really doesn't sit well with me. I tried adding it into smoothies though, and that seemed to tone down the weird fermented flavor a little!

Great Post! As a Seminole still living in Tally, I enjoyed reading about your Tally adventure this weekend. Too bad the game didn't turn out well, but at least you got some Gordos and Bagel Bagel!

Michelle @ Crazy*Running*Legs said...

OH NO you did not just tease me with GORDOS!!! I haven't been there in 8 years. Sigh.

I need to figure out a good excuse to make Gordos sauce. Mmmm.

So sad we lost this weekend...I feel like I should be used to it by now.

So sad to miss WIAW this week. :(  Italian food is amazing and I can't wait to share some of these meals soon.  Everyone's oatmeal has me jealous - cured meat and cheese for breakfast gets old VERY quickly.

Emily @ Life on Food said...

Looks like you had a great time. Clearly I missed out on going to a college with no football team.  What was I thinking?
